Mission Statement

Oceanview United Methodist Church's youth ministry is a God centered fellowship where all youth are enable, encouraged, and nurtured on their Christian journey.

Core Values are:  Spiritual growth, use critical thinking skills to develop faith beliefs, Bible study, opportunities for service inside and outside the church, develop communication skills, have good relationship between youth, adult youth leaders, parents and the whole community, develop leadership skills, understand the relevance between God and life, how do I have value, enjoy fellowship together in a safe environment, learn gifts, learn about prayer and use prayer in everything.

Ministry Focus

Fellowship - Lockouts, Scavenger Hunts, Bowling, Parties, Ski Trip, Night of Joy, weekly youth gatherings and other activities planned by the youth.

Discipleship - Sunday school, Bible study, how the Bible is relevant to my life and other discussion topics.

Service - Raising money, shopping for the gifts and

 helping with the Christmas Store for Headstart families.  Helping with the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, UMW Luncheons and Home Delivered Meals Appreciation Dinner, Kid's Church, VBS, Music Camp and other opportunities for service in the church and community.

Outreach - Selling cards for Project Gazelle to help people in Africa make a living and provide scholarships for children to go to school, a work trip to The Florida United Methodist Children's Home each year, a Summer Mission Trip and other projects for the community.

Worship - Youth play an integral part in worship by leading the children's message, singing with the Praise Team, helping serve communion, etc.  We also have Youth Sunday each year which is a youth planned, prepared and lead worship service.
